If a kit is missing parts or the instructions are wrong (it happens), we work through it rather than leaving you with a half-built frame.

Who can assemble a pergola kit?

This is one of the most common questions we get, usually from someone staring at a Costco or big-box pergola kit they didn't realize was a project. The answer: we can.

A pergola kit looks simple in the picture and is a lot of precise, heavy, two-person work in reality — posts set plumb, beams lifted and aligned, everything squared and leveled before it's fastened, and the whole thing anchored so it doesn't shift. Aluminum kits have their own quirks; wood kits are heavy and need bracing as they go up. We assemble pergola kits from any brand — big-box, Costco, or ordered online — and set them level and anchored, which is the part that separates a pergola that lasts from one that leans after the first storm.

The difference between a kit that lasts and one that fails isn't the kit — it's how it's set. And Houston makes that harder than the manual assumes.

On our clay soil, a kit set on unlevel or unstable ground racks out of square, and once it's racked the doors bind, the panels gap, and the roof doesn't shed water right. So we start with a level, stable base and build square off it. Then anchoring: a shed, pergola, gazebo, or playset that isn't properly anchored is a sail in a Houston storm. We anchor to the ground or the slab so the structure stays put and stays square through the seasons — the two things a driveway assembly job skips.

Playset assembly is its own kind of job — a swing set or play structure is a stack of parts that has to end up safe, square, and solid, because kids are going to hang off every piece of it.

We assemble backyard playsets and swing sets to the manufacturer's instructions, leveled and anchored so they don't rock or shift in use. Gazebo kit assembly is similar precise work — a gazebo has a lot of parts that all have to align for the roof to close up right, and it needs anchoring against wind like anything else out here. We take the time to get both square and solid rather than just fastened together.

Assembly is for the kit you already bought. But a kit isn't always the right answer — sometimes a custom build lasts longer, fits the space better, or costs about the same once you factor in the kit price.

What kit assembly costs in Houston

Assembly is priced by the kit — its size, its complexity, and how many parts and steps it involves. A small resin shed or a simple playset is a modest, defined number; a large wood shed, a big pergola, or a multi-station playset takes longer and prices accordingly.

What moves the number: the size and type of kit, how involved the instructions are, whether the ground needs leveling or a base built first, and the anchoring the structure needs.
